My husband and I loved this!! I cooked a 5 lb. angus beef roast in the crockpot. I seasoned it well with garlic and fresh pepper than cooked/browned all sides in a pan with olive oil. It cooked on low in the crockpot for 6 hrs with NO VEGES. My family loves mashed potatoes with roast. I used 1/2 c. of wistershire sauce, one/two c. Sweet Infant Ray'due south Original plus i/two c. water. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It turned out delish!! I can't stop picking at the meat and dinner was over 2 hrs agone. Thanks for this easy recipe.

This is an awesome recipe. I think those who didn't like the veggies need to realize they are really only there to add flavor, like when you make chicken broth. IT'S ALL About THE MEAT! However I mashed down the veggies before serving, added one cup of potato water (from the mashed potatoes I was making, my mom'due south kitchen tip when making gravies) and thickened information technology to brand gravy. YUMMMMM
04/23/2009
this was awesome although I substituted A-one marinade for the BarBQ sauce. Just vicious apart at the end of the day and sweetness as could be. Served with mashed poatoes and peas. Yum Yum!
04/16/2009
Couldn't be easier. The use of BBQ sauce is a nice change from the more ordinarily used onion or mushroom soups. Nosotros're on a low-sodium nutrition, so I watered down the worcestershire sauce using i/2 water and one/2 sauce.
04/nineteen/2009
Then tasty! I loved the worchestire taste the beefiness picked up! This is the first tiresome cooker roast that my boyfriend has approved of. I minused the veggies every bit we like mashed potatoes with roast and sprinkled the roast with a niggling onion & chili powder. Great recipe!
07/12/2009
I loved the flavor of the meat!! Withal I accept to concur with some of the other reviews that the veggies did not taste very well!! I will make it again minus the veggies!!!
xi/19/2010
Despite the unappetizing picture accompanying the recipe, this turned out delicious. I had a lesser round and no clue what to do with it. I was skeptical near such a elementary recipe - but I lacked ingredients for other recipes. I simply put the beef and some potatoes and red onion, in the crock pot (afterward browning the beefiness), added the two sauces and left it on low for 10+ hours. Everyone loved it. I especially liked that it had a chip of a boot! This recipe is a keeper!
05/xviii/2009
this was terrible. Every thing tasted the same-all b.b.q It would accept been o.k. if only the meat had the b.b.q. sense of taste
05/06/2009
This is an excellent recipe. The meat was so juicy and tender. The carrots and celery had a very nice smokey flavor to them, which I had never experienced, but loved! Am definitely going to be making this again.
09/xiii/2009
This was okay and I had all of the ingredients on hand. I'one thousand not certain that the bbq sauce was necessary. Information technology didn't seem to add to the taste. Overall the meat was flavorful and tender.
07/25/2011
Awesome and unbelievably piece of cake. Its very filling and is super quick to throw together. Information technology was a bit sugariness and a bit spicy, just both probably could be stock-still easily with some ingredient tampering.
08/18/2011
This was the outset time I'd e'er used a crock-pot or fabricated a roast. I had an almost 4lb. roast then I added more liquid and as well didn't really have any veg that I idea would go well except onion. I used A! marinade as I didn't take bbq sauce. I permit it cook from five:30 am to about five:30 pm. Information technology was tender and juicy. I really didn't have to cut it or anything it simply fell apart. The warmth and small kicking from the A! and west-shire was comforting and brought thoughts of curling up on the burrow on a cold nighttime munching the roast. I can't wait to take some of the very niggling leftovers on bread with provalone cheese tomorrow. If my blood brother doesn't practice 1 of his astonishing disappearing food tricks while I sleep tonight. YUMMY, that is all I have left to say.
03/31/2011
This was the first beef roast I've ever cooked and it was splendid and my married man loved it! The only ingredient I didn't have on hand was celery just nosotros didn't miss it. I'm cooking it again next calendar week and I'll add the celery to compare the difference in taste. I tin't imagine it tasting any better!
03/04/2011
This is super practiced. Used a 5lb roast with 1/4 Worcestshire, three/4 BBQ sauce and i cup water. Wearisome-cooked for 7.five hours. Volition probably cook for 6-half-dozen.five hours next fourth dimension. Thanks! Mom loved this.
03/06/2011
This was a very tasty dish and the offset slow cooker recipe I ever tried. I did not accept all the veggies so I only used onion. After the roast was washed I thickened the juices slightly for more of a gravy. The leftovers are in the fridge, the meat shredded in the sauce and volition be used for sandwiches, with coleslaw, tomorrow.
03/09/2011
I also took the suggestions and added one/two cup of h2o and used the sugariness baby ray'southward bbq sauce. I did not have celery only it wasn't missed. The veggies do not taste adept the other reviews are right that information technology's merely suppose to add flavor to the meat. The meat though was cracking!! I will definitely exist making this recipe again!! I cooked information technology for 3hrs on high and 3 hrs on low and it was perfect!!
07/15/2011
Excellent roast recipe...omitted the barbeque sauce because my husband likes "real meat" flavor.
08/xvi/2011
Excellent beef roast. I accept always found circular roast to be dry and altogether inedible but with this recipe it was falling apart under the pocketknife. I have made this twice at present, trying both half dozen hours and viii hours, and believe me, the extra ii hours is worth information technology.
09/28/2010
I liked information technology. It was succulent. I enjoyed the mix of BBQ sauce and worcestershire sauce. The veggies were perfect. I would add together more veggies next tome!!
x/18/2010
WONDERFUL idea - bbq sauce & Worcestershire! I did follow other reviewers suggestion of cooking the veges separately. Mashed tators become great with this. The flavors are not overwhelming; you lot tin gustation the beef which my hubby likes. I didn't apply the celery or onions. I put garlic powder & pepper on the beef, then browned both sides in olive oil earlier I put it in the slow cooker. Smelled peachy and tasted great. If you want More than flavor, add together more spices/sauces. Sweetness Babe Rays original sauce is the BEST!
11/11/2010
I totally hated it and and so did my family. Next time I'll just employ my Grandma's recipe.
03/05/2010
edible but thats it
04/09/2010
Loved information technology. The bbq sauce gave the roast a new littlle zing gustatory modality to information technology!!
09/xiv/2010
This was sooo good!! I made it in the crockpot & it came out Fabulous!! My hubby & girls loved information technology!!
03/13/2010
This was my showtime roast that I ever fabricated. Information technology turned out great! My bf fifty-fifty said, "wow, this couldn't have turned out better!" I follwed the advice of previous reviewers...I used A1 marinade instead of the bbq sauce and left out all of the veggies except the onions. The sauce ended up being delicious to pour over veggies and mashed potatoes on the side. I will definitely make this once again!
11/08/2011
Delicious. But modify I made was I did not add the carrots or celery since I was out and didn't desire to run to the store. Very piece of cake. Volition definitely make over again.
05/xv/2009
I beloved making this on a busy twenty-four hour period. Throw all the ingredients in the deadening cooker in the morn and sit downwards to a nice homemade dinner in the evening! It always comes out tender and juicy.(It's also a nice alter from a regular roast beef recipe.) It has a really nice smokey all the same mild bbq sense of taste to it. The sauce was especially skillful over rice.
09/28/2012
Used carrots and mushrooms, sub'd A-1 for BBq sauce. serve over rice. thanks!
06/13/2010
This was a hit. I browned roast on BBQ turned out perfect.
12/25/2011
Not a bad taste, but non as tender as some of the recipes I have tried. I omitted the celery, every bit I detest the taste of information technology, and did non miss information technology at all.
06/10/2010
Fabricated exactly equally written. I agree with some other reviewers that the Worcestershire was also overpowering. I couldn't taste anything else. Too bad, a good roast that wound upwards tasting like drinking a bottle of Lea & Perin! One star for the tenderness of the meat and veggies
12/15/2009
very tasty with little work....creates its own juice...nice...
ten/03/2009
Very tasty! The BBQ and Worcestershire sauce make a unique, sweet and tangy sauce. A nice twist to the traditional tomato plant-based roast I usually make. I omitted the celery and used potatoes and it worked very well, too.
11/19/2009
11/12/09. Served with crescent rolls and mashed potatoes. Skipped the celery. ane lb carrots. Added 1/ii cup h2o.
09/21/2011
I'one thousand drooling remembering how good this was. I made this for our Sunday dinner with my roommates and they were nevertheless talking nigh information technology days later. I skipped the celery and carrots and had veggies on the side. Definitely bringing this back soon!
10/25/2009
Tasty only a footling n the dry side when all was said and washed. I used a tri tip roast and didn't put any celery or carrots in every bit I just didn't take any. Volition make this again, but with a gravy on the side.
10/07/2009
I varied this some but it was swell! I was agape to "ruin" my roast past not using my traditional recipe but I tried it anyway and it was a striking! I used a mixture of 3 unlike BBQ's that I already had open up in the fridge. The only veggies I put in were onions.
03/28/2010
This dish turned out to be very tasty. I was pressed for time this night then I cooked the pot roast on high in the wearisome cooker for 3 hours, rather that on low for half-dozen hours. I besides used baby carrots instead. Quick and easy.
03/30/2010
Very good, will definitely make over again. Thanks!
03/02/2015
Succulent! Did non employ carrots or celery. Used onion, fresh garlic, and added a can of Rotel. The meat was actually tender and soooo flavorful! Will definitely brand over again!
eleven/17/2012
Piece of cake! Many roast recipes for crock pot require browning first, which to me removes the ease of crock pot cooking...one pot, a pocketknife, a cutting board, 10 minutes - done. Husband and four year old son loved it. Cooked 6 hours and it was very tender.
07/18/2012
I fabricated this last night and information technology was DELICIOUS!!! The season was amazing....I used sweet and spicy BBQ sauce...My husband ate half of it!
01/10/2011
Made information technology for dinner tonight.....YUM!!! Didn't add together the veggies. Added onion flakes in with sauce mixture. And then tender.
05/21/2009
Very tender and good flavour
10/30/2013
This was very tasty Just, each crockpot is unlike and v hours in I noticed my beefiness was well done (I detest that). I lowered the crockpot to simmer. Fortunately, I served it smothered in the sauce and it was proficient. Side by side time I would check on it at 3-4 hours. Don't assume half-dozen-eight hours is ok.
07/22/2012
Easy and great. I loved the flavour of the veggies. I cooked some manifestly veggies and mixed with the boring cooked ones.
05/19/2009
So simple and like shooting fish in a barrel used what I had and it turned out perfect My hubby would have given information technology a ten!!!!!!
eleven/25/2013
Information technology but goes to evidence how people take different tastes because I hated this dish. I followed it to a T and all I could taste was Worcestershire sauce.
08/23/2009
I was really surprised at how well this turned out. Not dry and very tasty. Left out the veggies and cooked them separately every bit I didn't think I would like them in with the bbq sauce. Married man really liked this recipe!
08/06/2009
I cooked the round roast but like the recipe said but left out the veggies and steamed them. My husband similar it more and so I did. He said it about is similar a wanna be brisket. The side by side time I arrive I will probably exercise but a couple dashes of the Worcestershire Sauce and more BBQ Sauce. I call up that 1/2 cup of Worcestershire Sauce was just to strong and over powering.
07/12/2009
I had high hope for this recipe. Information technology was definitely piece of cake to make, only the flavors seemed to clash with each other. My husband thought it might taste meliorate if the BBQ sauce was omitted and a parcel of onion soup mix was used instead. I would maybe try that, but I likewise wonder if the variety of BBQ sauce used makes a divergence in the end result. In my example, I used Sweet Infant Ray's Original. The repast was edible, but zero to write home about.
05/26/2009
Very good! We all loved it!
03/18/2015
Sorry but I can't get on board with all the not bad reviews. I followed the recipe exactly merely I found the meat to be very dry out and uninspiring. The slow cooker liquid did make an excellent gravy which when combined with mashed potatoes saved the day.
07/05/2009
I really did not savor this at all. My husband did, however. We substituted soy sauce for Worcestershire sauce, but I don't call up that was a huge difference. All of the veggies ended up tasting like the sauce, like they were drenched. The meat was fine, but I remember the same level could be achieved with a different recipe that leaves the veggies tasting nice. I idea the sauce tasted best with the egg noodles I made to go with information technology, but that is the part my husband didn't similar. I doubt we volition be trying this again.
06/29/2009
Wow this is awesome and super simple. I made some modifications. I pan seared the meat first, used half a bottle of dark beer instead of worcestershire sauce, and omitted the celery. Information technology was the best roast always. Next time I'll add fifty-fifty more than onions as they tasted like french onion soup onions, yum!
05/28/2009
VERY Easy and super simple only information technology was delicious. I found the BBQ sauce and worcestershire sauce were a skilful combination and neither ane overpowered the other. I made it over rice as suggested and made (haha boiled more like it!) fresh sweet corn on the cob, and information technology was a great compliment to the gravy from the bottom of the crock pot poured over rice. The roast was perfectly cooked. I was unsure what shpinky meant past "chopped" carrots and celery but I chopped them downwards to small bite sized peices almost the size of half a penny. Enough so that they would nonetheless flow adequately easily out of the gravy boat.
08/26/2018
I made hot beef sandwiches , mashed patatoes. He moaned the entire fourth dimension he ate...lol. For BBQ sauce I used Garlic BBQ sauce. I found it to have a bit of an after taste, volition tweak it side by side time. This was overall a succulent meal.
ten/22/2018
The MOST tender and delcious roast ever. I'm extremely picky near meat being even slightly dry, I was not disappointed! The unabridged family was also impressed ??
05/07/2016
The meat was cooked wonderfully. Unfortunately my 14 year old son did nor like the gustation which I call back was the worstichire sauce. My husband thought it was good.
12/28/2015
This was succulent. I only used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and but 1/2 of the worchestershire sauce chosen for. When it was washed, I added some corn starch to the liquid to thicken information technology a bit and served it, veggies and all, over pasta one dark and mashed potatoes another night.
04/09/2017
Very hands put together. The results were nifty. Definitely a keeper.
12/29/2019
It was nice and flavorful.
01/23/2015
Trying information technology correct at present. It'southward just what I was looking for!
02/12/2017
Nosotros made this for my mother in laws birthday dejeuner. It was perfect we added red potatoes to it which just made it even ameliorate. The meat only barbarous apart!!!
09/20/2019
Information technology was good simply I agree with the other reviewers that said the vegetables didn't sense of taste good (although my hubby liked them and he commonly doesn't like vegetables!) I gauge that's a matter of taste. The meat turned out really practiced and very tender. I used a top round roast.
01/xiv/2014
I just fabricated this tonight. Beginning time cooking a roast in the crockpot. I substituted the Worcestershire sauce with Demitri'south Bloody Mary Mix-Extra Horseradish and substituted the BBQ sauce with beef broth. The grocery was actually out of celery so I only used carrots and onion. Very tasty with a nice zing from the Blood Mary mix. Will make it again.
09/xvi/2019
Anybody loved it even my mom and she is not a big fan of BBQ sauce.
11/11/2018
Made this - I added diced potatoes with the skin notwithstanding on, some yellowish pepper cut into strips and sliced red onion (concluding ii laid on top) The family unit loved information technology!
11/ten/2020
Great flavor! Like shooting fish in a barrel to make! Instant family favorite! Definitely adding this recipe to our rotation!
12/15/2017
Moist & tender
09/26/2018
Roast + carrots. Added minced garlic instead of powder, celery flakes and dried reddish onion instead of fresh. 8 hrs.... Great
11/25/2018
practiced basic recipe, was enjoyable
12/07/2016
Very good recipe! My family loved it! I did tweak it a bit... I sprinkled the roast with table salt, blackness pepper & garlic powder then pan fried the roast on all sides with some olive oil first. I largely chopped 3 whole onions (NO other veggies at all) and placed them in the crock pot, place the pan fried roast on summit of the onions in the crock pot. I then mixed 1/4 loving cup of Worcestershire & one/four cup of soy sauce & 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce together in separate basin. I so decided to add together a can of beef broth to the mixture and poured information technology all over the roast in the crock pot. Cooked on low for 6 hours and voila!! Done!! It had soooooo much flavour! I likewise fabricated white rice on the side and the onion sauce was absolutely crawly every bit a dressing for the rice!!
11/xv/2019
I used frozen chopped onions on the bottom of the slow cooker. A practice I started before I started using liner bags. Ran on high for first hour to thaw. Did not have celery. Followed directions with 3 pound roast. Very tender! Sweet Baby Ray was the dominant season. Garlic and Worcestershire Sauce faded during cooking. Paired well with the all-time backed potatoes recipient and Cabernet.
02/04/2013
Great season!! Even my 10-year-sometime really liked it! Put it over egg noodles and information technology was truly succulent. The only matter modify I might make is to thicken up the sauce before serving. Definitely a keeper!
xi/04/2014
This recipe was great! I didn't have the vegetables on hand and the meat had already defrosted. I added the remaining ingredients and hoped for the best. Information technology was succulent - moist, tender and super tasty. Can't wait to effort information technology with the veggies!
12/12/2018
This recipe makes a tender roast. I didn't accept bbq sauce so I used simply Worcestershire sauce. I followed the rest of the recipe as written. I used a no salt sauce blend equally a rub and I sprinkled garlic pulverisation and pepper on information technology. This was to compensate for the lack of salt. I cut the potatoes into chunks and put them on the bottom and the meat on acme. I put the remainder of the vegetables on top of the roast. I added one/2 cup of h2o. The potatoes were delicious because they turned out brown and flavored similar the "broasted" potatoes y'all go with a roast in the oven. The reason for the 4 star rating instead of five is the vegetables on height. None of u.s.a. liked them.
01/25/2015
I love carrot. Old I put carrots in my cereal. Instead of milk I put ranch dressing. Ranch, Corn Flakes carrots; All-time breakfast always. P.S. I beloved you lot
02/04/2020
The tedious cooker beef roast was excellent. I will be making this again. Thank you for the recipe.
06/04/2020
All I did was cover the beefiness with onion soup mix... turned out delicious.
02/27/2017
My family dod non treat it, too much vinegar like sense of taste. It could take been my crockpot, since it burned on the top.
03/26/2017
I have been cooking for at least twoscore years, and this was the best pot roast recipe I've e'er used. I made only a few changes- I added cherry potatoes and mushrooms to the list of veggies, I added one quarter cup Worcestershire sauce and 1 quarter loving cup water, and I thickened the gravy before serving with a little corn starch mixed with the broth. It was delicious. It'southward the only pot roast recipe I will use from now on.I would fifty-fifty recommend it to company!
05/17/2016
This was good. I threw in some whole garlic cloves and liquid fume. I would imagine the sense of taste varies with the type of bbq sauce y'all use. I used Sweet Baby Ray'due south considering it was what I had in the fridge. I would make this again
01/22/2019
Dry
04/01/2019
The meat was tough and everything had the same gustation, and it wasn't a adept taste.
04/21/2016
I used this recipe just for the method, merely added flavor according to my family'south sense of taste. This produced a lovely tender and moist roast beef - something I take struggled to do in the past. I'm sure the flavour contour hither would work nicely as well. Just used the leftovers to make beef stroganoff for dinner tonight - yum!
04/19/2020
I cook chicken breasts in my crock pot all the fourth dimension and they come out delicious, very tender and fall apart. Then I thought I would attempt a roast for taco meat. SOMETHING WENT HORRRIBLY WRONG! Information technology is well done after only iii hours? Cooked information technology solitary; No BBQ sauce or veges. HELP... I take been looking forward to tacos for 3 days at present... I am and so bummed. Well, after trying it, I guess it came out alright. Some of it fell autonomously for my tacos the rest of it was a bit hard to eat on tacos! But all in all I gauge it was okay, I was simply expecting information technology to fall apart easily like my chicken breasts e'er practice. Skillful tacos though!!!
03/22/2014
Took the motion-picture show during the prep. Taking a post pic slipped my mind. Yum
11/16/2014
I used a breadstuff and butter roast, I used a lot more than liguids then information technology calls for more similar three/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce and 3/4 loving cup of BBQ sauce I used sweet babe rays original I also added about 1/2 cup of water. I used celery, califlower, carrots, didn't have an onion then I used dried onions, I as well used garlic table salt. I cooked 3 hrs on high 3 hrs on low. It just fell apart it was so delish. I usually do the whole box food meals.. Well frankly because they are quick and piece of cake. But this was simply every bit easy. I volition say I was scared to ruin my roast or that my boyfriend wouldn't like it. Simply he even used the juices to put on his mashed potatoes. ????
11/28/2018
I did not take any barbeque sauce so I used a cider vinegar drink for the sauce. My family unit love it. Served the sauce over mashed potatoes with the beef on the side.
01/23/2017
This was delicious! I added most three tablespoons of soy sauce, too. Makes a succulent juice for mashed potatoes, too.
x/24/2016
Uncomplicated and Tasty. I eliminated the bbq sauce as I call up this adds too many calories and all yous would gustation is bbq sauce instead of the meat. I kept in the celery, carrots, mini potatoes and mushrooms and onions. I only added beef broth and some garlic buds. Before putting in the deadening cooker, I browned the top and lesser of roast, and then sprinkled Montreal spice all over information technology. All liked it! I used the juice to make gravy.
08/fifteen/2016
This was pretty good! Only changes I made were added a trivial garlic powder, red peppers and used 2 different kinds of BBQ sauce and then, I did 1/2 cup of each! I used one sweet & spicy and i was Cattleman'south! I went to bed early on and when I woke the side by side forenoon there wasn't much left over of the huge roast I made! So, that ways family unit approval! Not fifty-fifty enough left over for the next meal! Wow!
04/07/2017
This was a large striking. I unremarkably follow recipes to the tee--but I didn't have any worcestershire sauce (gasp!). I subbed it for some "Dale'southward Marinade"--I know its non available everywhere, just if y'all can go it, its great. Aaaaanyways, information technology worked out cracking.
10/26/2016
This turned out wonderfully. I didn't have Worcestershire cause so I used 1/2 loving cup of A-1 Sauce. Also, cook time on depression @ 6-8 hours - adjacent time, I'll do 7 hours. But the sauces were bully, carrots were succulent & the roast to die for!
08/27/2014
Very easy, I added potato chunks the 2d fourth dimension I cooked information technology.
08/23/2009
This was my showtime roast to cook in a slow cooker and it was so easy!! I used Jack Daniels for the bbq sauce and it tasted phenomenal!
12/02/2020
I honey it the beef was tender and succulent simply affair is I swapped the Worcestershire sauce for Frank's hot sauce and it was delicious! Had it with mashed potatoes and broccoli and cauliflower
